Židovské muzeum v Praze

Philanthropy and Volunteering Culture, Art and History

Let's give them their names!

Help us preserve the memory of those who protected the memory of others During the dark years of the Second World War, as the world was falling apart, there was a handful of people who quietly and with immense courage protected what was meant to be destroyed – the Jewish cultural heritage. These were the staff of the Central Jewish Museum in Prague. At a time when displays of humanity were dangerous, they documented, categorized, and preserved heritage items that were supposed to remain forgotten forever. In so doing, they created one of the largest collections of Judaica in the world, as well as laying the groundwork for the museum that is still going strong today. Today, many decades later, we wish to honour these people. We would like to put together a memorial at the Old Jewish Cemetery in order to commemorate their courage, dedication and quiet heroism. But this cannot be done without your help.

This campaign is already closed. Thank you!
