Honzík is a 7 year old boy who was born a healthy kid. He was bright, he loved running, jumping and riding his balance bike. He was playing with his sister, parents, and their cat. Everything changed on that fateful day when he was with his mom on a trip for moms with their children. He accidentally drove his balance bike into a lake, unseen by the other moms that looked after him while his mom was away. It was only when his mom returned that the search for him began. They found him in the water. The ambulance arrived after almost half an hour, and it took the paramedics long 6 minutes until they managed to get his heart to beat again. He was transported to Fakultní Nemocnice in Brno where he fought for his life on the ARO with the help of doctors. For many days it was uncertain if he would make it, but when he opened his eyes for a few minutes, the hope for his survival only grew stronger. Even after being in coma for a long time, terrible seizures and the official diagnosis of "hypoxic encephalopathy", Honzík did not stop fighting. It is now over 5 years since this terrible accident, and Honzík is doing so much better. After long medical procedures that the health insurance company doesn't cover, the family has exhausted all their financial resources. They say that it was worth it, but Honzík needs further treatment, and they don't have the money to pay for it.

Even though Honzík is a strong fighter and tries his best every day, there is a long road ahead until he can walk or talk. The doctors say that he can get better, but only through intensive medical rehabilitation. That is great news, however medical procedures like the laser therapy in USA or stem cell treatment in Slovakia aren't cheap, and Honzík's family needs your support.
