Maťko is a seven-year-old boy who has been diagnosed by doctors with Duchenne muscular dystrophy – a rare neuromuscular disease for which, unfortunately, there is currently no cure. This congenital disease is gradually weakening all of Maťko’s muscles, slowly sapping his strength and mobility. To maintain at least partial independence and delay the time when he will be confined to a wheelchair, Maťko needs to work intensively with specialists. The funds raised would enable the family to pay for the very costly rehabilitation, hippotherapy and spa treatments that are crucial to the boy’s condition.
