Pig house. Inspiration: Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.

Pigs need a safe and dry place where to take nap and sleep. A place where to hide from wind, rain, sun or snow. Adult pigs have no problem with cold weather but hot weather, that's a different story. Pigs need to have a place to lie down and what will protect them from draft.

The pig housemust have the possibility of natural air ventilation and, at the same time, of the possibility for the pigglets to warm up their bodies in it. That's why we count on luxurious soft bedding (hay, straw).

Solid wood on the outside, impregnated OSB boards will suffice on the inside. With such a floor that can be easily cleaned, disinfected, simply cleaned.

To make sure pigs won't be running around the village, where we want to buy a part of land, We have to keep all bristles safely on our property and build a sturdy fence. Although the piglets will roam freely in the pastures, we must protect them from the outside world.

Small sized pig weighing 90 kg cannot overcome a fence made of pallets, but we are talking about a piggy of mass between 100 and 200 kg that will pass through the fence like a hammer. And believe me or not, when such a tank want to go, it just goes.

We want to make an outdoor fence of high quality to keep inside even large and heavy breeds of pigs. The inner enclosures can be made from pallets - depending on the breeds.

Welcomed donation or a gift is construction material as solid wood boards, pallets, mesh, fence parts, metal rods, etc... Many people have “treasures” at home that they no longer use, and we will use such items for construction. We love to recycle and re-use things. We also assume that, if it is possible to get a part of things second-hand, we will use it.

This fundraiser was launched as an individual. 

We want to have a meadow purchased by next summer. That's the plan. And we've already raised money for it. :) Now we need to think about the facilities for the pigs and fencing. Will 200 thousand be enough? Less? More? Hmmm... we'll see. 

The material will be purchased continuously. We will keep you informed about the latest news - what has been purchased, what is missing, etc. 

We will try to upcycle the materials. We will also look for donated pieces.
