Debating is a competition between two teams of three people who argue according to a set of rules about contemporary controversial issues. The winner is chosen on the strength of the presented arguments, the strategy of the teams and speakers, as well as the style of their speeches. Debating teaches critical thinking, working with sources and information and improves speaking skills.
The World Schools Debating Championship is the most prestigious event of its kind, where the best high school students from more than 60 countries compete. The Czech national team has participated regularly since 1995. In the last two years, we have advanced to the elimination rounds and this year, we would like to repeat this success once again.
