Speechless reconciliation - Support of youngsters in SOS Villages

All contributions will go to the Speechless reconciliation project. It is a project for kids of 15-20 years of age from houses without parental care from six Balkan countries (Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Lithuania). The overall objective of the project is to give young kids hope and the idea of a better future. The proceeds will be used for a 10-day long summer camp in the Czech Republic in August and develop and run the on-line portal with information for independent living.

In the former Yugoslavian countries there are many marginalized youth living in homes for children without parental care.

Our objective is to take small groups of these children from different national, religious and ethnic backgrounds and give those kids opportunities to build understanding and create bridges between themselves and to expand their vision of what it is possible to achieve in their own lives.

We believe that prejudices can be overcome by bringing young people together to share ideas and thoughts and take part in common activities. It is in this way that they recognize the things that connect them as human beings
We would like to provide mentoring opportunities to these children and to create lasting relationships between the homes and Rotary clubs from different regions.

This is a multi-year project with a pilot program taking place in August 2021.

In the first year of a project we had 24 participants of age 13-18 and in 2022 already 36.
