MSF teams are directly responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in over 40 countries worldwide. Across their projects, MSF teams have been improving infection prevention and control measures to protect patients and staff, and prevent further spread of the new coronavirus. Starting already in January 2020, MSF committed substantial resources to developing dedicated COVID-19 projects, maintaining essential healthcare in their existing programs, and accompanying ministries of health in preparing and/or facing the pandemic. This support was often in the form of training in infection prevention and control, health promotion and organization of healthcare services. Everywhere we work, we see how this pandemic hurts already vulnerable and marginalized communities. This is obvious in many of the countries with the highest death tolls—including in the United States, India, Brazil, and Mexico. We are also responding to the evolving needs in countries with weak and fragile health systems, such as Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan.

In the case of Central Europe, pandemic led to execution of the first ever projects in MSF 50-years long history in both Czech and Slovak republics. MSF teams in these countries focused on prevention and support of houses for elderly of excluded communities, drawing from vast expertise gained fighting pandemic and endemic diseases - such as ebola - in all corners of the world.
Thanks to your support we are able to continue to provide care for our patients. Thank you!

Thank you for your hard work!
