A couple of Family Shelters contacted us asking for the supply of basic food, medicines for children and hygiene items, so we began to act immediately - within a week in EW we selected in the food collection among the staff more than 20kg of legumes, more than 30 kg of pasta, 30 kg of rice, 40 kg of fruit, more than 120 litres of fats (oil, butter...), 80 meat and tuna cans, 65 packages of diapers, 10 bags of biscuits for kids, more than 120 medicine bags for kids etc etc etc....3 Family Shelters with 60 kids and 40 mothers will have enough food, medicine and hygine products for till the end of year at the latest. THANK YOU!
HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR US - we have contacted experts who map houses for homeless Mother and Children in the Czech Republic (and are founders of www.azylaky.cz webpage). Together with them, we have selected another 15 houses, where the situation is really serious, and we decided to organize an employee money collection for them, in which we aim for at least 200 000 CZK - EW is going to match the employee donation - for every crown you donate as employees, the shelter gets another crown from EW.
With the money collected, we buy food packages according to the list from individual houses, which are then distributed by the workers to the clients who need it the most. The aid is therefore clearly targeted where it is most needed and aims to provide basic food and drugstores. Some of the houses in need is, for example, Dům J. J. Pestalozziho v Chrudimi or Dům Sv. Máří Magdaleny, which helps homeless mothers with disabilities.
At this challenging time, it is essential to show love and support to people who need it, and that is undoubtedly what homeless mothers and children are. Thank you for not letting them be. Let's help together - WE are EW.
