Every year, INEX-SDA selects and sends 7 participants, aged between 21 and 30 for the international project called GLEN. This project aims at development of critical thinking in global context and acquiring methods of global learning. The vision of GLEN is to contribute to the world where people critically think about the realities in globalized world and their own roles in it and they are actively involved in building fair and sustainable society. 

 

Participation in the cycle is sustained by scholarship. Unfortunately, the donor supporting the project for more than a decade cancelled the funding practically in the middle of the project. Thus, the scholarship remains very limited. 7 selected interns in meantime successfully pass through two preparation seminars and organised everything for their internships. Costs related to that (flight tickets, visa and accommodation) as well as cost for the winter selection procedure (form of assessment centre) are not covered. Two participants already decided to step back and others are facing lack of money to cover all expenses.

 

Most of the internships have started already in July and they will contribute to:

• Educational work with young people in the Community school in Myanmar 
• Support of promoting and marketing in The Girl Power Foundation in Uganda 
• Cooperate on communication strategy for The Research and Education Organisation in Benin 
• Developing a visitor centre for a landscape park in Ukraine 
• Biodiversity monitoring and waste management in Lagodekhi National Park, Georgia 
• Cancelled – Empowering youth and internally displaced people in Georgia 
• Cancelled – Working on irrigation systems and environmental conservation in Uganda
