Tým odvahy (Team of Courage) raises funds for seriously ill children from the Czech Republic to enable them free participation in therapeutic recreation which helps them fight their illness, establish contacts with their peers, build self-confidence and gain courage. Due to the pandemic, the programs in 2020 and 2021 took place online and children joined either from the hospital or from home. We organised several online programs and 8 weekly virtual camps for children with cancer, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and muscular dystrophy.
At the end of April 2022, we managed to hold the first family camp for children with cancer in the Podještěd sports complex. In the summer, we plan virtual camps for children who are unable to participate in traditional camps due to their illness and next year we would like to restart camps in a special camp in Hungary - in Bátor Tábor (Bátor means courage in Hungarian).

The mission of the Bátor Tábor Foundation is to serve seriously ill children and their families. We meet them in hospitals, we help them return to life through therapy camps, and we hold their hands when they are returning to school. The aim of our programs is to alleviate the mental burden associated with a serious illness. All our programs are free and are designed to develop the skills needed to succeed in life.
Bátor Tábor operates in four countries and is the only camp of its kind in Central Europe. Bátor Tábor is also part of the international organization Serious Fun Children’s Network - a worldwide association of camps for seriously ill children, founded in 1988 by the actor Paul Newman.
