We love Brazil and we love Brazilian movies. Years ago, we realized that the Czech Republic lacked so much of Brazil’s cinema and culture. Beyond the usual stories about social differences and the favelas (which are important, but far from the whole picture). Brazilian cinema is diverse, surprising, poetic, funny, and profound.
So we decided: if no one else was bringing these films to Prague, we would do it ourselves. That’s how Kino Brasil was born.

Where we are now
Twelve years later, Kino Brasil has become a tradition. This year, from 20–30 November 2025 at Bio Oko cinema in Prague, we will once again bring a carefully curated program of the best of Brazilian cinema, along with debates, side events, and a vibrant cultural experience.

And 2025 is not just any year: it is a great year for Brazilian cinema, full of powerful new films, fresh voices, and international recognition. That makes this edition of Kino Brasil especially meaningful.

What is our goal?
We want to keep enriching the Czech public’s view of Brazil: showing that it is much more than beaches, football, and samba. Our goal is to keep building a festival that:
