Three years ago, we achieved something great together. Thanks to approximately 160 donors, we raised nearly
CZK 600,000 and repaired the lighting in the Mahen Theater auditorium, including the central chandelier. Today, we use energy-efficient lighting, and a symbol of public support in the form of a crystal donor lamp shines during every performance.
This campaign gave rise to the Friends of the National Theater Brno – regular donors who provide long-term support to the theater.

The slogan of the new campaign captures a simple truth: giving doesn't end there. Friends of the NdB are rewarded for their support with experiences that ordinary audience members don't get to have – at least four times a year, they get a behind-the-scenes look at the theater, meet the creators, or experience theater from a completely different perspective. Their contributions support the creation of new productions.
For example, in 2025, thanks to Friends of the National Theater, we raised CZK 100,000, which will be used in 2026 for a set design element in the opera production Agrippina. The project is being created thanks to a combination of individual donations and the involvement of a corporate partner who is manufacturing the set design object. This proves that even smaller, targeted donations can have a concrete, visible, and meaningful impact.
What do you get in return? Friends of the National Theater Brno are not just donors. They are part of the theater. As a thank you you will receive:
sending DIVA magazine to the mailbox
a visit to the general examination – outside the public general
only for Friends of the NdB theater tour on International Theater Day or in summer – outside of classical tour

ONE-off donation for NdB If you don't want to be tied down...
Not everyone wants to commit to regular giving right away, but they decide spontaneously and don't want to deal with complicated paperwork. And they don't care about the club benefits of the donor program. Such a donation should not exceed CZK 5 000 - for larger one-off donations we prefer to draw up a contract (write an e-mail to skarabelova@ndbrno.cz).
