On our spring and summer river trips with the BrnoWalkers group, around thirty of us get together, often representing five to seven different countries. You might find yourself in a boat with a Ukrainian woman who speaks a few words of Czech, sitting next to a German who speaks a little English and a little Czech. Yet somehow, throughout the entire trip, they manage to communicate, word by word. During the stops, they sit together in a café and continue chatting. The same atmosphere can be found around the board games. People speak Czech, English and Ukrainian, and over the course of an evening, complete strangers become game partners who greet each other by name the next time they meet. This is exactly what we want to offer to more people in Brno, now on a more regular and frequent basis.

BrnoWalkers started as an informal initiative centered around walks and board games and now connects people across six neighborhoods in Brno. Our growing group is a place where new friendships are formed and people develop a sense of belonging to the community. Over the past year, our team has received dozens of thank-you messages from participants who have found a new home in what was once an unfamiliar neighborhood.

Our venue is provided free of charge by Centrum Brusinka, z. s., and all the work is carried out by volunteers from Družina Moravy and BrnoWalkers. Nadace Via will double every donation you make, up to a total of CZK 20,000. This means that a contribution of CZK 500 becomes CZK 1,000.
