Support Fotograf Zone: Help Us Keep a Space for Visual Dialogue Alive

Fotograf Zone is a key platform for contemporary photography, visual art, and critical reflection on society. Over the past 25 years, we have built a strong network of relationships among artists, curators, audiences, and institutions. Our work includes 50 issues of Fotograf Magazine, more than 2,000 expert texts available online, 16 editions of the international Fotograf Festival, hundreds of exhibitions, and countless international guests whom we have brought to Prague. Our physical and creative home is the Fotograf Zone Gallery in Prague, which also includes an extensive specialist library and the complete archive of our publishing activities. In a digital age saturated with visual noise, we focus on public education, discovering and internationally supporting emerging talent, and critically reflecting on the images that shape our world. Together, we keep alive a space for free and independent cultural dialogue.

We live in a time of visual overload. Every day, we consume thousands of photographs, an increasing number of which are now shaped by artificial intelligence. In this flood of images, it is easy to lose our bearings. That makes it all the more important to have a point of reference — a place that helps us read digital images, think critically about them, and recognise their real value.

At Fotograf Zone, we believe that photography is one of the keys to understanding the world we live in. That is why we develop a bilingual publishing platform featuring in-depth essays, interviews, and critical reflections on contemporary visual art with an international reach. We make knowledge accessible to the wider public as well as to both emerging and experienced collectors, helping them navigate the contemporary photography market and understand its long-term value.

Our physical heart is the Fotograf Zone Gallery in Prague. More than an exhibition space, it is a lively centre for education and exchange. It is also home to an extensive specialist photography library, including major international publications and a complete archive of every issue of Fotograf Magazine — a unique record of Czech and international visual culture, open and accessible to everyone.

Independent education and high-quality online content need a stable foundation. To continue publishing, developing exhibitions and educational programmes, and keeping our library and gallery open and accessible, we need you — our community.
