🚴♀️ Zorka Šťastná, a 46-year-old woman receiving palliative care, is preparing to take on the ride of her life starting June 7, 2025. In a relay with her daughters and supported by the Domestici team, she will cycle across the Czech Republic — from west to east, from Cheb to Třinec — in just eight days. Along the way, they will stop at 17 hospices. 🚴♂️

Along the route, several local community events will take place – with music, activities, and a chance to support the idea of dignified care until the end of life. A major public event with a concert by Marie Tilšarová will take place in Beroun, and another big gathering in Prague will feature a performance by singer Tali, presentations from three local palliative care providers, and a rich accompanying program.

On Thursday, June 6, we invite the public to an opening talk at Papírna (Unipap plus) in Cheb, and the closing event on June 15 will take place in the Třinec public library. Details about each community event can be found at www.8dni.cz.

Life should remain meaningful and dignified until the very last second. That’s what palliative care is here for. We’ve made our dream come true – together, we’ve raised over 10 million Czech crowns to support this challenging yet deeply human cause that can touch any of us. And this is just the beginning!
Domestici.cz = support for Palliative Care in the Czech Republic
In June 2024, Martin Souček and Tomáš Navrátil stood at the starting line of one of the world’s toughest ultracycling races. After 8 days, 8 hours, and 23 minutes, they crossed the finish line, having ridden exactly 4,936 kilometers.
A race like that is impossible to finish without domestiques — those who ride in support of the leader, offering help and strength in the toughest moments.
And that's exactly who we’re looking for now: domestiques for palliative care.
Your donations will go directly to support outstanding non-profit organizations: the Forum of Mobile Hospices, the Center for Palliative Care, and chosen hospices across the country.
Together, we hope to ensure that as many people as possible — whether our loved ones or strangers — can live their final days with dignity and quality of life. Palliative care is not about curing at all costs. It’s about making sure that when the end comes, it happens in the way the person themselves would wish.
