12 + 3 friends and mothers, a team of totally amateur runners called "Map My Rum" will take part in Vltava Run 2021. Vltava Run is a 360 km long relay race along Vltava river. And we will run for Lenka in Wonderland, a beautiful curly-haired autistic girl. If possible, may we exchange your thumbs up for any donation for her therapies, which facilitate interconnection of Lenka's world with our one and which Lenka needs every day.

Their costs are high and although her parents do their best, sometimes they get "short of breath". We would love to gain funds which could cover at least 3 months of Lenka's therapies. Will you please help us?
We have enjoyed running for several years but one day we decided to take a running challenge and improve our motivation. And since we do not fancy small goals, the choice was right the Vltava Run. We did all agree that starting with athletics at our 40s is a brilliant idea, hired a professional trainer and started to seriously work hard. Now, after several months, we attended loads of trainings together, wrote thousands of messages through WhatsApp, shared many challenges in our running app and we will run the Vltava Run for the second time this year ! And running for a good purpose was a clear idea from the first moment.

Lenka was born as a healthy child but after her 2nd birthday Lenka started to escape into a different world, as if our planet was no fun to her any more. Her parents took her to many doctors before one finally got it. She doesn't hear, since she doesn't want to hear. She doesn't speak, since she doesn't want to speak. She doesn't eat, since she sees no reason to do so. The diagnosis was autism level 2 with mental retardation. Lenka gave her parents and brother a hard time at the beginning but after years of her therapies they finaly found the way - they pay visits to Lenka's world and she joins our one in return. And as Lenka loves music and constantly recites or sings (with greatest joy at 3 or 4 a.m.), she is "Lenka v říši divů - Lenka in Wonderland", the enchanted princess which needs 24/7 care.

It was Lenka's father, who took part in the Vltava run in 2017 as an amateur and who finished it successfully with a great portion of will. Thanks to him we believed that we could make it too! On top of that he introduced us to a great running trainer, who took us under his wings and has pushed us towards our immodest goals. And so we would like to help Lenka in return. We would love to free Lenka's parents from the financial pressure at least for a couple of months. With your help we will go our best to gather some extra funds, which would help them cover Lenka's daily therapies for a while.

If you decide to help Lenka and donate, you can do so either here, via this call for donation or directly to Lenka's transparent bank account Lenka v říši divů z. s. (account nr.: 2401716324/2010).

You can follow Lenka a Facebooku or Instagramu and read a little more about her at her website. And if you are interested to know a little more about our progress with our terribly hard sport challenge, you can follow the Map My Rum running team at our Facebooku or Instagramu profiles.

Big thanks to all those, who will decide to help Lenka. And if you had any questions, please let us know anytime, we are here for you...please rest assured that we have knowledge of practically everything, since we are 15 women! :-)))

Lenka is a beautiful, curly-haired autistic girl, who needs 14 hrs of special therapies every week. The yearly costs get high and although Lenka's parents do their best, sometimes they get "short of breath". Therefore, this project enables one-time donations for Lenka's daily therapies.
Lenka needs a 24/7 care and special therapies on daily basis. A combination of therapies helps Lenka find a way to our everyday world.

Weekly Lenka needs 6 hrs of ABA therapy (applied behavioural analysis) during which she gains new skills, improves communication and learns self-service, social interaction and also makes physical training which keeps her fit. Besides that she spends additional 8 hrs with an assistant training her social skills.

Most probably she would love to write her story for you herself, but for the time being, she cannot make it. With your help it will be possible one day! :-)

Leni, drž nám palce a těšíme se na tebe v cíli! 💙
