Prague Marathon 2017
Hi family, friends and all the happy faces I know,
Thank you very much for visiting to my donation page and indeed overcoming the language hurdle to get here - I promise to make every effort to match yours tenfold when pounding the 26.2 miles of pavement!
In a little over two weeks (May 7th) I'm going to be running the Prague Marathon for Let's Give Children A Chance (DEJME DĚTEM ŠANCI), a local Czech charity that focus on providing comprehensive help for children and young people from children’s homes, especially in the last years of their stay in a children’s home, during the period of their leaving and at the start of their individual lives.
As some of you may know, I had a regrettable reoccurrence of the 'Hannah holiday dates mishap' again when entering the Marathon this year and was originally down to run London for Cares4Kids. I therefore chose Let's Give Children a Chance for the corresponding great work they do locally in Prague to ensure the charity receives direct and maximum benefit from all donations.
I know you will all be inundated throughout the year with donation requests and appreciate many of you will have personal causes that you support regularly however both Let's Give Children a Chance and myself will both be extremely grateful for a contribution to our race total for the Prague Marathon. I have specifically held back from ever asking for any sponsorship for any previous events I've entered to save my plea for the big one (this is it!) so if you are happy to support now is your time!

We make it possible for people to support a specific child living in a children’s home in the Czech Republic, in the form that is acceptable to them.
- securing financial support for the child after leaving the children’s home - saving within the framework of the project „Support me…” or adoption „up close…” (minimum donation CZK 200 per month)
- establishing a contact person outside the children’s home, support and publicity for the “host care” - project „Find me…”
- fulfilling the specific reasonable wish of a child - project „I wish…” (minimum donation CZK 100)
- support for the study and preparing for the future of the profession, help on leaving the children’s home - project „Help me start in life...”
