At Fousek z.s., we care for stray, abandoned and abused cats. Many of them are among the hardest cases – cats with serious injuries, sick or neglected animals, kittens found without their mothers, and senior cats rescued from conditions no animal should have to endure.

Our cats have an old house that we have been gradually turning into a safe and welcoming temporary home.

Step by step, whenever our finances allow.

We have already built new service areas, a storage space and a quarantine section, and recently completed the renovation of the most damaged room.

But this time, the work is no longer simply something we would like to do. It is something we have to do if Fousek is to continue operating.

Half a Million for Five Rooms

Our goal is to raise CZK 500,000 to renovate five more cat rooms.

We need to repair the walls and floors, improve the ceilings, electrical wiring, windows, window sills and lighting, and make the changes now required by the relevant supervisory authority.

The renovated rooms will provide safe, clean and practical spaces for cats recovering from surgery or injury, rescued kittens, sick cats and our senior residents.

For most cats, Fousek is only a stop between the life they have survived and the home we hope is waiting for them. A place where they can heal and learn to trust people again.

Why Do We Need Help Now?

Until now, we have renovated the house gradually, one room at a time, whenever our finances allowed.

But these repairs can no longer wait.

As part of the registration process for our facility, we have now been required to carry out further building work in the remaining cat rooms.

The rooms are already fully functional and the cats are properly cared for. However, we are now required to make additional structural improvements to the walls, floors and other parts of the rooms.

We would normally have spread this work over several years.

Unfortunately, that is no longer an option.

If we cannot complete the required work, our registration – and with it the future of Fousek itself – is at risk.

Everything we have goes into treatment and daily care for the cats. Veterinary procedures, hospital stays, medication, diagnostics, food and everyday care require enormous resources.

Whenever the choice is between treating a sick cat and repairing a wall or floor, the cat will always come first.

That is why we have always renovated gradually, as our resources allowed.

But this time, we have no choice.

We need to renovate five rooms – and we simply cannot afford to do it on our own.
