Fossil oligarchs such as Daniel Křetínský and Pavel Tykač run businesses that profit from energy poverty, destroy people's health, and threaten the future of us all by deepening the climate crisis. They consolidate their position by befriending politicians and buying up media outlets and universities. The Re-set platform has been working for five years to make sure they don´t get away with it.

We expose their clientelist networks and accounting tricks, which they use to mask the destructive impacts of their business. We monitor the ways in which coal barons drain public funds, which are then absent in hospitals, schools, or in the development of a more democratic, accessible, and sustainable energy sector. 

We strengthen and connect those who dare to stand up to coal barons, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. We give a voice to people from regions directly affected by their business across Europe, connecting communities from Czechia, Italy, Germany, and other countries where Křetínský's companies threaten people's health, the landscape, and democratic processes.

The coal barons have their billions, political connections, and media outlets. But most people still realize that their business is not in the public interest. Together, we can stand up to them. But to do so we need to know how the Czech fossil fuel business works. We need to be informed and connected.
