The women working at Cooks Without Homes are full of grit and personality — true invisible heroines of everyday life. They’ve endured violence, hardship, loss, and prejudice and yet they’ve kept rising after every fall. 

It’s been 8 years since they started proudly serving meals they’ve cooked — at weddings, conferences, and corporate events. They show that there's no shame in having faced misfortune in life.

It was their idea to revive a raw, unpolished location near Prague’s Anděl district and open a social enterprise unlike any other. Since then we have continued to learn from their courage — learned to offer work, safety, therapeutic support, financial counseling, and a truly individual approach.

Together with our parent organization Jako doma, we publish guides and documentaries, and appear in national media. We show the Czech public that people on the margins do want to work. That it’s possible to help with trust and partnership.

Cooks Without Homes do not receive regular funding from the state. Everything we have, we’ve had to earn — through catering, grants, and support from people like you.

When we received the news that we lost an important grant, we decided to show the world that Cooks Without Homes never give up. Our country needs a business like this.
