Help for Ukraine

In response to the Russian army attack on Ukraine, we are announcing a public collection to support people affected by the armed conflict. We have long-term cooperation with organizations that provide foster family care and help to homeless people. Our partner organizations need help to ensure the safety of their own clients and also to support refugees who leave their homes as a result of the conflict. They are collecting a stock of medicines, durable food, sleeping bags and other necessities. They are planning for the evacuation of children and women. Let us together show them that the people of the Czech Republic have their situation at heart.

The proceeds from our Fundraising will be used to support the refugees and IDPs from/in Ukraine who had to leave their homes and also to help the most vulnerable groups that Diaconia has long supported through our Ukrainian partners.

We sent almost immediately emergency financial assistance to two our partners: Father´s House, which takes care of orphaned children, and House of Mercy, which supports vulnerable elderly homeless people in Kiev. 


Our partner organizations in Ukraine need assistance to ensure safety for their clients and to support people who are affected by the conflict.They are collecting medicines, durable food, sleeping bags and other necessities. 

"Diaconia the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren is very close to Ukraine. We have long-term cooperation with our partner organizations that provide foster family care and help to homeless people" explains Erik Siegl, head of foreign projects at the Humanitarian Centre of Diaconia ECCB, and he is adding: "in the current situation, we would like to increase our support to these partners who also help people from conflictaffected areas to Kiev."

We unequivocally condemn the act of military aggression against Ukraine. We are in contact with our partners in Ukraine and we are monitoring ways how to help them and through them. We, as most of the people in the Czech Republic, have their situation at heart.

V průběhu prosince jsme prostřednictvím našeho partnera Mirne Nebo v Charkovské oblasti podpořili distribuci více jak 6 000 teplých jídel denně v humanitárních kuchyních a v této pomoci dále pokračujeme.  Za podporu Vám velmi děkujeme!


You have already sent more than 13,5 million CZK to our public collection “Help for Ukraine '', thank you for your contribution! Through your donations we have been able to support 3 partner organisations in Kiev and Uzhhorod that provide direct help to the people affected by the conflict fleeing the country in the form of material & food aid and shelter.


The city of Uzhhorod hosts approx. 20 thousand of refugees at the moment many of whom have travelled for 2 or 3 days to reach this place. They are exhausted. Shelter, food and basic care are the things they need the most before crossing the border. Diaconia ECCB provided immediate financial aid to the local non-governmental organisation Blago for purchasing the essentials. Material help is on the way too and will be distributed to the people temporarily accommodated in local schools and Blago Community Centre.

In reaction to the Russian invasion of Ukraine we launched a public collection to support people affected by the war. As of 25.5. you have already donated more than 12,3 mil CZK. Thank you very much for your solidarity!!   


Pro naši místní partnerskou nevládní organizaci působící v Užhorodě sbíráme materiální pomoc pro lidi, kteří utekli před válkou ze svých domovů a míří do zahraničí.

Užhorod hostí v tuto chvíli zhruba 20 tisíc uprchlíků. Mnozí nich cestovali 2 nebo 3 dny, než se dostali sem. Jsou vyčerpaní. Před přechodem hranic potřebují dočasné přístřeší, stravu a další základní péči.

Diakonie ČCE prostřednictvím svého Střediska humanitární pomoci poskytla místní organizaci Blago okamžitou finanční pomoc a organizuje spolu s pražským FS ČCE u Salvátora a panem Hradeckým sbírku hmotné pomoci. Ta slouží lidem dočasně ubytovaným v užhorodských školách a komunitním centru Blago.
