How support for Scout leaders “in the storm” works
Volunteers who spend their free time leading girls and boys in Scout units without any expectation of payment sometimes face challenges that can’t be predicted or fully prepared for. Sometimes it’s a windstorm that knocks down trees and teepees, other times it’s supporting children in difficult family situations. Such situations may involve anxiety, eating disorders, or self-harm among young people, dealing with complicated relationships within the unit, or insecurities connected with team leadership.

We offer a crisis hotline
That’s why there is the Scout Crisis Hotline for Leaders, staffed by our trained operators — Scouts who have experienced hundreds of meetings and trips, dozens of camps, and have already navigated similar storms. People who know the environment and situations well: they listen, advise, provide support, and if needed, direct the leader to cooperating professionals such as psychologists, doctors, or lawyers.

Our hotline is not an anonymous call center. It’s a network of trained operators who combine this service with everyday life and continually develop their skills. They help maintain calm when the thunder rolls. And thanks to your support, we can provide them with even better professional guidance, supervision, expert consultation, training, and the facilities they need to be even better navigators in the storm.
